the end of the fucking world part 7 by charles forsman
New cover time. Got this issue done early since I have Mocca this weekend and TCAF the next. It’ll go up for sale after all that probably. But’ll have copies with me at the shows. I don’t have a table at MoCCA but they should be at the Retrofit table or I’ll be walking around. See you soon. Come say hello.

See you at TCAF.

“It is imaginary, it is a means of escape”  //
For the past couple of months, I have been working as an ESL (English as a Second Language) teacher and it has provided me many hilarious memories. One day, I decided to white-out the words in an old Fletcher Hanks comic and let my students create their own stories. Here is a story by my most diligent student, Hussain. ****Take note of the way Hussain spells my name : “Neef”

On Batman:
Gayness is built into Batman. I’m not using gay in the pejorative sense, but Batman is very, very gay. There’s just no denying it. Obviously as a fictional character he’s intended to be heterosexual, but the basis of the whole concept is utterly gay. I think that’s why people like it. All these women fancy him and they all wear fetish clothes and jump around rooftops to get to him. He doesn’t care — he’s more interested in hanging out with the old guy and the kid.

Here’s a short interview re: The Massive. I tried to be really candid with this one, and there’s interesting bits about research and writing and format, and also this:

HC: There’s been so much post-apocalyptic fiction in recent years and wonder whether it’s because we are so anxious in an…
